Thanks to the help of Stava Building Corporation, the Jack Zink Adventure Base (ZBase) will soon be poised to put the Tulsa area on the outdoor adventure map and join an elite list of nationally-significant outdoor adventure camps for the Boy Scouts of America.

Stava Building, which is celebrating its 30th year as a premier Tulsa construction company, recently completed multiple facilities which served as the kick-off for a master campus upgrade and renovation on the Zink Ranch campus – ZBase. The campus will serves over 18,000 youths in 18 eastern Oklahoma counties.

“It is a big project that’s just going to have a profound impact on a number of youths, the Boy Scouts of America and eastern Oklahoma,” said Stava Building Vice President LouAnn Smith. “It was an honor for us to work with the Zink Family Foundation and the Boy Scouts of America on this very meaningful and visionary project.”

Tulsa Area ZBase Project Notable, Grand for Numerous Reasons

As Smith alluded to, the ZBase Project was one which was significant on multiple levels and was well publicized by the Oklahoma media.

Tulsa World columnist John Klein wrote that ZBase would potentially draw “scouts from all over the country” and join the Boy Scouts of America’s other high-adventure camps in New Mexico, Florida, Minnesota and West Virginia.

For the ZBase Project, Stava Building orchestrated the completion of multiple additions to the Zink Ranch campus. They include:

  • The Helmerich Pool Complex – a 7,100 square-foot facility complete with a pool house and five separate locker rooms.

  • The Chapman Trading Post and First Aid Complex – a cantina and trading post where participants can come to get concessions, merchandise, and 24-hour a day first-aid treatment.

  • The Zarrow Training Center – the facility houses the main training room for camp, along with the administrative offices and living quarters for the camp director.

  • The Cappy Amphiteater – the 200-person amphitheater overlooks Skiatook Lake and will serve as the locale for the opening and closing ceremonies for campers.

Stava Building also completed a state-of-the-art pavilion and constructed shower and restroom facilities for the campus.

The most dynamic facility of ZBase, however, may be the Jack Graves Sporting Clays Complex.

The impressive facility will serve as the largest ADA accessible sporting clays venue in the United States and features an 18-station shooting area, training rooms, administrative offices and a full catering kitchen.

The inaugural event at the Jack Graves Sporting Clays Complex happened in May and was covered by the Tulsa World.
