New Owners Hellen, Smith Set To Lead Tulsa Stava Building Corporation Into The Future

With the Stava Building Corporation set to turn 30 this year, 2018 was already going to be a big year for the renowned Tulsa construction company.

Turns out 2018 will be even bigger than expected, as Stava Building is proud to announce that Curt Hellen and LouAnn Smith are now co-owners of the company. Hellen will serve as Stava Building’s President, while Smith will serve as the company’s Vice President.

CEO John Stava, who founded the company in 1988, will remain actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the company.

“The company is in great shape,” Stava said. “It’s important that Stava Building continues to grow and develop. I feel that it is in great hands with Curt and LouAnn, and is poised to take the next step forward with their leadership.”

Both Curt and LouAnn come to Stava Building with extensive construction and professional experience throughout Oklahoma.

Curt has 22 years of construction experience and has worked on numerous notable projects including: Tulsa Zoo Lost Kingdom, Northeastern State Multipurpose Arena, Yale Village at 91st & Yale, Zarrow Pointe and numerous healthcare, educational and private developments.

The new Stava Building President received his undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University in construction management and his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Dallas.

“I’m extremely excited for the opportunity to join Stava Building as its President,” Curt said. “It’s a company that has been a force, yet somewhat of a hidden gem, in the Oklahoma construction industry for a number of years and will only continue to grow.”

LouAnn, meanwhile, joins Stava Building with 21 years of professional experience in operations, marketing and business development.

She earned her undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State in marketing and is also excited about the opportunity to join the Tulsa based construction company.

“I am absolutely honored to join such an established and energetic team,” LouAnn said. “The future of Stava Building is very exciting.”
