The future residents of Heartwood Commons have something to look forward to!
They will soon be able to enjoy coffee on a neighbor’s porch, hear collective laughter in the common house, get lessons from Master Gardeners, provide a helping hand when needed, and share a dinner with friends – all within a few steps of their own living room.
Heartwood Commons is an intentional cohousing community where the residents can enjoy all these activities and many more! Groundbreaking for the project is anticipated within a few short months.
This 36-units of housing will be a series of three and four residential clusters with a range of space up to 1,500 square feet.
The community is set for construction on approximately five acres, one block from Riverside Drive, at 7141 S. Quincy Avenue.
It is perfectly situated to provide a park like setting within minutes of the trails along Riverside, great restaurants, healthcare and shopping. Cohousing is more than a neighborhood, it’s the ability to create a culture within a planned community that fosters connection and friendships.
In addition to their homes, the community members also have equity in the entire property.
The physical spaces allow neighbors to easily interact with each other outside of their private homes and include spaces like the Common House which includes a gourmet kitchen, dining room, guest rooms, laundry and art room. Other shared spaces include a woodshop, a pet park, community garden, and more!
Jones Design Studio leads the design process and have collaboratively partnered with national cohousing experts Caddis Collaborative.
Stava Building was selected early in the process as the Construction Manager. The teams have been working closely with the residents to develop the community of their dreams.
Only a few housing units remain for sale. Heartwood Commons will be the first cohousing development in Tulsa, and only the second one in Oklahoma.
