Stava Building Honored With Multiple Awards at Associated General Contractors of Oklahoma Ceremony
Stava Building was honored with both a “Build Oklahoma” award and a “Best-of-the-Best” award from the Associated General Contractors of Oklahoma (AGCOK) during their annual awards ceremony held on January 19, 2019. The award was received for their involvement with the Boy Scouts of America – Zink Ranch Campus Renovation – ZBase.
Each year AGCOK presents “Build Oklahoma” Awards to acknowledge projects considered exceptional throughout the state. Awards are only given to one contractor in the categories of Commercial, Industrial, Education, Healthcare, Institutional, Historic and Specialty, and are further categorized on the project dollar amount.
With hundreds of projects completed each year, it is considered a great honor to receive one of these meaningful awards.
Stava was also recognized in a new category during the ceremony. AGCOK created a “Best of the Best” award to further recognize a “Build Oklahoma Award” winner that was involved with a true stand-out project worthy of additional recognition.
“Being recognized in this new category is something special,” said Curt Hellen, President of Stava Building. “Working for the Boy Scouts of America was a unique opportunity, and we’re happy to see this campus being recognized.”
Stava Building project manager Justin Sessions accepted the awards on behalf of the elite Oklahoma construction company.
The recently completed projects on the Zink Ranch Campus were part of a master campus upgrade.
This plan allows ZBase to join an elite list of nationally significant adventure camps that pair high-level leadership training with extreme outdoor adventures.
The projects completed by Stava include Zarrow Training Center, Helmerich Pool Complex, Chapman Trading Post & First Aid Complex, Cappy Amphitheater, a welcome pavilion and multiple shower & restroom facilities. One of the most exciting completed projects on campus was the Jack Graves Sporting Clays Complex.
The facility serves as the largest ADA accessible sporting clays venue in the United States. John Graves, son of the late Jack Graves, felt the construction of this facility was a meaningful way to recognize the life’s work of his father.
The late senior Graves is considered one of Oklahoma’s most admired oil producers and philanthropists. During his lifetime, Jack openly acknowledged that much of his success was due to his involvement in the scouting program.
